I Know You Felt That

Stop pretending you’ve got it all under control and start paying attention when you feel out of control.

When you get those butterflies in your stomach and your nerves are going haywire, or see your hands shaking,  or you are so excited you might pee on yourself; take a deep breath and really listen to your soul. It’ll tell you what’s up. Seriously.

Do not plow through your emotions getting nothing out of that moment except an explosion of feelings. Take notes and then do your homework (reflect).

When your spirit is out of alignment, then there’s no better time than that moment to allow yourself to feel what’s going on and start asking yourself some very tough questions.  You could start with, “why am I feeling like this?”

You owe it to yourself. Create the space and ask the questions.

Here’s the best part…the answer always lies within. You just have to be brave enough to ask yourself the questions.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

You want to be an author? Start writing. You want to run a marathon? Start running. You want to fall in love? Start loving. It seems like in order for us to be who we want to be, we have to start doing what it is that we want to do. Easier said than done, this I understand. What if my writing sucks? What if I can’t even run a mile? What if I love and they don’t love me back? Listen. These thoughts are completely NORMAL. We all have this little or big voice in our head that tells us that we can’t or that paralyzes us into doing nothing. It’s okay to be scared. Even the best of the best have these same thoughts, even though they are the best! The difference is…they smacked that voice in the mouth and got started.

Seth Godin couldn’t have phrased it better when he said, “pick your self.”

Stop waiting for someone to recognize that you’re an writer and start writing.

Stop waiting for someone to say, “a marathon…you? Yeah…I could see you doing that.” Run or walk the first block.

Stop waiting for someone to say, “I think they love you too!” You want love? Give it.

If you want to do something, pick yourself and just get started.

What are you going to start this weekend?

Leave a comment and let me know and as always…

Just Breathe

It’s taken 28 a years, a life coach, and a commitment to live on purpose to realize that sometimes…we just have to stop everything and just breathe. Inhale and then exhale. Then close your eyes and do it again, but this time breathe in, slowly…until you can’t take in any more air…and then blow it out.  As you exhale, slowly and with intention, pay attention. Really pay attention. If you’re truly in the moment. Something will come up. That feeling you’ve been suppressing may flow out of you in the form of tears or immense joy and laughter.

Breathing deep and getting in tune with your body is a gift that I recommend you give to yourself at any time you choose. If you’re feeling stressed, excited, nervous, angry, tired, confused, grateful, blessed…just breathe and know that it will all work out.

Take Time & Reflect

Today I realized I don’t get enough “T” time.  Not saying I need to hop in the car and spend the day at the beach, but days like today should be planned and put on my calendar going forward. What’s a day like today you ask? Well…I took the day off. Shut everything down and spent a great amount of time reflecting on my life.

Biggest conclusion of the day…not enough moments of peace.

When is the last time you took the time to reflect on your life?

How do you know what’s missing if anything at all unless you stop and reflect?

We go together like mustaches and creeps

So this line is fitting to describe how one of my “twinsies”/riot starters and I go together. All kidding aside…it’s amazing when you discover why you are here on this earth. It’s even more amazing when you run into a person whose soul sings the same song as yours.

Imagine…you’ve finally stumbled upon the work that will make up a piece of your legacy. Imagine… realizing there’s no way for you to do it on your own. Imagine… finding someone as hell bent as you are to go after this dream and breathe life into it when you’re out of air and vice versa. We joke about our relationship being like Aaron and Moses; however, this is no laughing matter. Brandi Holmes…I mean @yobholmes, I probably don’t say this enough…but THANK YOU.

Oh I’m Committed…

I was reminded today that to truly master your craft, it’s going to take 10,000 hours of practice. Thanks Malcolm Gladwell and @jacobsokol for the reminder. When I committed myself to this blog back in January, I said I would write every day for one year. Well…then came http://www.yogenyus.com and that changed. The energy and commitment to that cause, forced me to choose where I channeled my energy. The reality is http://www.yotheresacampbell.com is my playground. This is where I can express myself, be carefree, and stay committed to my craft and continue to add hours to that which I am trying master: The art of designing and extraordinary life and helping you do the same.

So without further adieu…I’m back!

I said 2012 was going to be EPIC right? Well…we’re in the thick of it.

Bring it on!

What’s Your Super Power?

Last summer I applied to volunteer to breathe life into something bigger than myself.

I applied to help 1 million innovators achieve the impossible. One of the questions on the application asked something along the lines of…“what is your super power?” In short, what do you bring to the table that is valuable and unique; and why would someone miss you if you were gone?

I loved this question because it forced me to think about how I truly add value. Not just in a worker bee sense but in all areas of my life. This question and everything that unfolded afterwards led me down a path of purpose discovery. I was also able to further anchor a deeper commitment to myself and those that I serve  to being my most authentic self. You can’t hide from yourself, so you may as well embrace who you are, where you are and use your super power as often as possible in a positve way. What I found is when you use your super power, and you are your most authentic self. You insipre others to do the same.

Go on…leave a comment and tell me your super power. I believe we all have one, and now may be the time you embrace it, and openly share your gift with the rest of your world. So what is it? …What’s your super power?

Victory & DeSleep

Hello Friends!

Many of you know I have been working like a mad woman to launch http://www.yogenyus.com with yobholmes. The site is up and running and as a result I was out of gas this morning. Instead of rising at 4am to start my daily ritual of preparing for a great day, I found myself fast asleep until 7am!

That being said…

Lesson of the Day: At some point…we all have to catch up on our sleep.
