You want to be an author? Start writing. You want to run a marathon? Start running. You want to fall in love? Start loving. It seems like in order for us to be who we want to be, we have to start doing what it is that we want to do. Easier said than done, this I understand. What if my writing sucks? What if I can’t even run a mile? What if I love and they don’t love me back? Listen. These thoughts are completely NORMAL. We all have this little or big voice in our head that tells us that we can’t or that paralyzes us into doing nothing. It’s okay to be scared. Even the best of the best have these same thoughts, even though they are the best! The difference is…they smacked that voice in the mouth and got started.
Seth Godin couldn’t have phrased it better when he said, “pick your self.”
Stop waiting for someone to recognize that you’re an writer and start writing.
Stop waiting for someone to say, “a marathon…you? Yeah…I could see you doing that.” Run or walk the first block.
Stop waiting for someone to say, “I think they love you too!” You want love? Give it.
If you want to do something, pick yourself and just get started.
What are you going to start this weekend?
Leave a comment and let me know and as always…
